Enabling shortcodes from your desktop theme

Some desktop themes have been distributed with built-in shortcodes and other functionality.  The desktop themes below include standalone plugins that you may install to activate their shortcode handling:

  • ElegantThemes - Install the ElegantThemes Shortcodes plugin, which can be downloaded in the ET downloads area.
  • Themify - Install the Themify Builder plugin. Download the plugin in the Themify downloads area.

Shortcodes in themes without a helper plugin are supported from version 3.7 and later: WPtouch Pro can be set to run your content through the desktop theme's shortcode processing.

To enable this compatibility feature, activate desktop shortcode handling in Settings > Site Compatibility > Shortcodes and select Process desktop theme shortcodes.

If that fails to work, open a page/post with shortcodes in it via the WordPress post/page editor and click the "Update" button. Then, reload the page/post in WPtouch Pro and see if that helps resolve the issue.

If your shortcodes require CSS or JavaScript, you can load these via WPtouch's Custom Code field (for instructions, see Adding Custom Styling).
